Bernard & Aloysia's pre-wedding shoot

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

Last sunday, I had the opportunity to photograph Bernard and Aloysia’s pre-wedding shots (or engagement shoot as it is known overseas) just 1 week before their wedding day.

It was a pleasure to photograph both Bernard & Aloysia as they were easy to work with and were not camera shy at all!  These scenic outdoor shots were taken in various spots around Klang.

Here are some photos of the shoot, do stay tuned for more shots of their wedding in the coming days.

AllMalaysian.Info Project – Part 2 (Lost World of Tambun)

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

I just had one of the most amazing weekend and all this thanks to the team from AllMalaysian.Info! This was our second project which coincided with the Sunway Memories Photography Contest. This time a group of 25-odd blogger cum photographers were sent on an all paid trip to the Lost World of Tambun in Ipoh.

Receiving the email confirming my participation in the programme, I assumed this to be just a casual trip for photo enthusiasts to go ‘trigger happy’ but I was surprised at the amount of activities that were arranged for us. This 2D1N camping expedition was a complete adrenalin rush from the start to the finish. Upon arriving at the Lost World of Tambun, we were entertained by the Malayana Tribe dance performance which was followed by the park tour and lunch cum photo workshop at the Kepura Cave (imagine dining in style in the cave!). We then set up our camps at ‘Needle Village’ before heading off to enjoy the park’s dry and wet attractions. After a sumptous BBQ dinner we were broken up to 3 teams where we played an entertaining game of ‘Counter Strike Live’. Which needless to say, my team won all the challenges hands down!

I woke up at nearly 6.30am only to be greeted by bloggers who were also early risers (Sashi, Puspa, Hurleyz, Ravin), we then headed off to watch the morning feeding session of 3 cute two-month old tiger cubs at the Tiger Valley. I’ve always had a dream to play with tiger cubs and the experience which brought me (up close) to them was simple amazing! We then quickly rushed to get dressed and headed off for breakfast.

Our group was then split into 2, the frist – to the ‘Six Mile Tunnel Cave Exploration’ while the second to ‘Gua Datok’. I joined the Gua Datok expedition; before we left, we were given safety gears, energy bar, mineral water and had to undergo a quick round of exercise. The hike-up to the cave was very steep and the ground slippery at times. This brought me back to yesteryears when I used to join many outdoors activities, I’ve quite mellowed down now and got accustomed to hotels and porter service. Nevertheless, I’ve got to thank both Novin & Vicknes for keeping an eye on me throughout the hike!

After our final lunch meal at Waves Restaurant we packed up and headed back to KL. All in all, I had a blast… looking back, all the body ache and leech bites were totally worth it and I have to thank AMBP, Sunway group, Mayflower and the team from Lost World of Tambun for an amazing experience! A big shout out to some of the most amazing bloggers and photographers alike who made the trip a blast!

Here are some shots taken at the Lost World of Tambun!

These home made cookies are currently being sold for Hari Raya, Deepavali and Christmas, a great help for those who don’t have time to bake their own cookies.

AllMalaysian.Info Project – Part 1 (Sunway)

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

I am really excited to blog about my most recent project. Those of you who are following my post would remember that I had mentioned about registering my blog under the flagship of AllMalaysia.info, here. There are a few projects which I will be participating with them, as I go along I will share my experiences with you, I’ll start of with the “Photographer Blogger’s Special Project” held at Sunway on 26 September 2008.

The main aim of this contest was to familiarise us bloggers / photographers with the Sunway attractions so that we would be able to join the Photography Competition organised by Sunway called the “Sunway Memories Photography Contest” which will run till 31 December 2008 where the grand prize stands at RM25,000 cash!

Yours truly together with about 20-odd Malaysian bloggers / photographers started off our day with a 30-minute slide show presentation by a Malaysian professional photographer who currently works for EPA, Shamshahrin Shamsudin. His photos were really well composed and articulate, only thing was I wish he had elaborated further on the photography aspects as the show was in motion. We were then given a tour of the Sunway Lagoon Theme Park and all its attractions!

After a lovely lunch hosted by Sunway Lagoon, we then headed to Sunway Lagoon Hotel, Pyramid Tower and Pyramid Shopping Complex for more tours and photo opportunity. It was a great chance for us to take lots of photos as were were given special photographer’s passes for the day. We were also given detailed brief about each place…I was a little dissapointed in not being able to view the “special themed room” at Sunway Resort, but other than that we were well taken care off and given a wonderful time by the Sunway team! Thanks also to the team at Thai Thai’s, Pyramid for hosting us for tea!

Special praises has to be given to:
Michael & Andy (AllMalaysia.info) for keeping us bloggers entertained and organising a great event!
Kah Peng & Fiona (Sunway Lagoon Theme Park) for tips on winning the contest & the tour
Cynthia & Nicole (Sunway Pyramid) for an excellent tour and being so informative!

So enough said… here are some of the shots which I took on the day, I hope you enjoy viewing them.
