Selvi & Saravana's Hindu Temple Wedding

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

I photographed Selvi & Saravana Kumar’s wedding in Sri Thandayuthapani Temple, Jalan Ipoh, Sentul, KL on 28 November 2009. Here are some sneak preview photographs of their traditional Hindu wedding ceremony. The wedding was held at the Temple Chettiyar Hall located on the temple grounds.

It was a beautiful and traditional wedding ceremony which lasted about 2 hours followed by lunch served at the temple hall.

Selvi & Saravana – Thank you for being a lovely couple, it was great photographing your wedding. Hope you both had a lovely honeymoon in Bali too!

Roshini’s 1st Birthday Party Celebration

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

Those who have been following my blog, you will remember Baby Roshini from her outdoor portraiture shoot. She celebrated her 1st birthday party at her home in Bukit Tinggi, Klang on 28th November 2009.

Roshini’s parents Vasanthy and Aravinthan had put so much effort into organising this beautiful party and it turned out to be really awesome! The theme for the evening was fancy dressed, so the guests came dressed in costumes such as pirates, angels, Aladin look alike etc.

Kiddies were given goodie bags while the adults were handed beautiful halo flower headpiece to wear throughout the night. The food from The Big Rajah’s was simply delish and the birthday cake ordered from Cecelia Pauline (CSS Cake Creation) was worth every bite!

The guests were kept entertained with music, magic performance as well as games all night long. I hope you enjoy these sneak preview images, more will be update on my website soon. So stay tuned!

Indra's Nalangu Ceremony on the eve of her wedding

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

Here are some images of my good friend, Indra’s Nalangu Ceremony which I photographed on 26th November 2009.  Traditionally the Nalangu ceremony (wedding rituals) are performed before the actual wedding day by the bride to be’s mother, aunts etc as a symbol of how much she is loved.

Indra’s Nalangu ceremony lasted for a period of 5 days but due to my hectic schedule I only managed to attend her final ceremony on the eve of the wedding and photograph it for her.  Nevertheless I hope all of you enjoy viewing these sneak preview photos!

Indra & Prahalad – Wish you both only the best as married couples and good luck in settling down in Sydney, Australia after the wedding :O)

I love food! One of my favourite subjects to photograph is food and beverages for restaurants either during an event or for their menu spread!

I recently submitted an article with photographs for the December Issue of KLue Magazine, featuring 5 best locations to eat in Port Klang. I’d like to share some of these shots with you here. If you would like to read the article, please do grab the December issue of KLue which should be hitting the news stands anytime now.

Monday, December 7th, 2009

I had such a wonderful time photographing Baby Shashini and her parents, Vijay & Lalitha during their family outdoor portrait session at the Kota Permai Golf & Country Club in Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam recently. All the photos turned out amazing as Shashini is such a poser!

Hence, you can imagine….what a difficult task it was for me to chose these teaser shots for the blog.  Shashini will be celebrating her 1st year old birthday party in January and I can’t wait to photograph it!

I hope you enjoy viewing these shots as much as I had fun shooting them. Please feel free to leave your comments!

A short holiday to Malacca with my galfriends

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

I love to travel, be it to local destinations or foreign countries, it somehow cheers me up and gives me fresh ideas for my photography. Recently I headed to Malacca (the historical state) for a short break with some of my girlfriends – Farina, Suganthi & Jayanthi. We had such a beautiful time there from visiting tourist attractions such as Jonker Street to visiting the Portuguese Settlement.

We also had a ball of a time eating our way..from the ever famous chicken rice ball, Portuguese baked fish to trying out sweet desserts such as nyonya kuihs (cakes) and chendol made from gula Malacca (palm sugar).

Thanks for the lovely time gals! We should do this more often!

Note :
Malacca is such a beautiful place with such amazing locations for pre-wedding and portraits. If you want to have your photographs taken here, please drop me an email as I’m always looking for an excuse to head back to Malacca!

Glocomp Golf Invitational 2009, Glenmarie Golf and Country Club

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

I recently photographed Glocomp‘s Golf Invitational at the Glenmarie Golf and Country Club in Subang on 19th November 2009. This is my second Golf photo shoot that I’ve photographed this year and I had an amazing time at the Golf course! My earlier shoot can be seen here. The more I get to learn about golfing, the more I am liking the game! This is one of the perks of being a photographer as I get to go to new places and shoot different subjects all the time.

We were lucky as it didn’t rain on the day…God must have heard my prayers! Here are some of the shots taken during the day,the game started off with about 116 golfers who were in 29 flights. Glenmarie comprises two full 18-hole courses. The 18 hole event consisted of a selection from both courses. Half the group tee-ed off from the front 9 while the rest from the back 9. The day started in the afternoon where the golfers were feasted to a lovely lunch before the group shot and tee off ceremony and ended with the slide show presentation of photos taken of the day, lucky raw prizes and prize presentation.

A big thank you to the team from Glocomp, especially Yen who did an amazing job organising this event.

Baby Arshia’s 1st Birthday Party

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

I photographed the ever so cute and bubbly Arshia’s 1st birthday party at the Botanic Garden Club House in Klang on 8th November 2009. Arshia was such a darling and I loved taking photographs of her as she was ever so willing to smile for each and every shot, from the start of the party till the end!

Since it was a fancy dress themed party, it was great to see almost all the guests making an effort to come dressed in cool looking costumes for the evening. Arshia was dressed as a little princess and her loving parents, Khaliq & Ozia were dressed as the devil and angel ;o)

It was evident that both Ozia and Khaliq put in a lot of thought and effort to organise this memorable day. The program for the evening included games for the guests, amazing dancing and singing performance by the family members and the best dressed award.

I’d have to say this is one of the best 1 year old birthday party I’ve ever attended!

Ozia & Khaliq – Arysia is such a lucky gal to be gifted with caring parents and family such as yours! I’m really happy to be apart of her birthday party and had such a wonderful time getting to know your family.

First Holy Communion, Holy Redeemer Church, Klang

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

Here are some shots of a shoot I did for Holy Redeemer Church in Klang last Sunday (8 November 2009) where 35 excited kids were ready to receive the Holy Communion for the first time.

The parish priest Fr Joachim Tan was very accommodating and patient with the kids throughout the long ceremony. We started off with family photos before mass began, followed by shots taken during the mass and communion. Then the group photo before everyone adjourned to the hall where the kids received their certificate from Fr Joachim followed by fellowship. This is the second time I’ve photographed a Holy Communion event, the first was taken last year in the same church. To view the posting for last year, click here.

Baby Roshini’s Outdoor Portraiture Session

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Last friday, I had the opportunity to photograph baby Roshini’s outdoor portraiture with her family in Klang. Her mom (Vasanthy) and aunt (Suganthi) and her grandma tagged along.

The weather was really gloomy and rainy in the morning and I kept praying for it to stop. Luckily the rain stopped by early afternoon and we went into full swing shooting mode, we had so much fun that we didn’t realise the time flying.

Photographing babies, kids or even pets takes a lot of patience especially if you have a difficult child to photography. But lucky me, Roshini was such an awesome baby! Once she got smiling, there was no stopping her, her charm and personality just shines through and her cute little smile is so infectious!

We ended the outdoor photography session at Jusco Klang to relax and unwind. Baby Roshini was tired as well but did a splendid job. She deserves a Star!

Do enjoy these sneak preview photos before I upload the rest onto my website. These photos will be compiled and made into a guest book for Roshini’s 1st birthday party which I will be photographing as well. So stay tuned to my blog for more updates!

Tip :

For those planning to organise a party and need the rain to stop here’s a tip from Vasanthy & Suganthi’s mom – Take 3 dried red chillies, 3 shallots and 3 kayu lidi (broom sticks traditionally used to sweep the outdoors) and place this in front of your house and the rain is sure to stop!
