Selvi is the sister of Mathi & Rani, who’s 21st birthday party I shot some time back. Happy Deepavali

Friday, October 16th, 2009

Here’s wishing everyone a very Happy & Prosperous Deepavali, may the light shine bright in your lives always!

From wiki:

Diwali or Dīpāvali (Sanskrit: a row of lamps) is a significant festival in Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, and Jainism, and an official holiday in India. Adherents of these religions celebrate Diwali as the Festival of Lights.

They light diyas—cotton string wicks inserted in small clay pots filled with oil—to signify victory of good over the evil within an individual.

Salina & Rajindren's Akad Nikah

Friday, October 9th, 2009

I photographed Salina & Rajindren’s Akad Nikah (Malay wedding) Ceremony last Sunday, 4 October 2009. This was the first time I have photographed an akad nikah ceremony and I was definitely stoked! We started the session at Salina’s house where I captured a couple of shots of them getting ready, before heading to Surau Almubarakah located at Taman Bukit Cheras.

We then headed over to a beautiful park nearby called Taman Tasik Permaisuri (Permaisuri Lake Park) for some outdoor shots of the couple & family.

Salina & Rajindren – Wish you both all the best and thank you for choosing me to be your photographer!

Jerry Ghionis Seminar

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

It was a last minute decision and I almost never made it for Jerry Ghionis‘s 1-day seminar which was held at Park Royal Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on the 25 September 2009.

Joining the seminar also gave me the opportunity to mingle with over 130 enthusiastic photographers from all over Malaysia. All of us had a funfilled session with Jerry who kept us entertained with his jokes and interesting stories, but most of all, he inspired us to be a better photographer!

Some of the pointers I picked up from Jerry were posing techniques, tips on directing couples, how to capture the natural magic on the wedding day and to create magic of my own and ways to make the best out of challenging environment.

As a photographer I am always on the look out to improve myself by reading books on photography or by attending seminars to give the best to my clients!

It was definitely a priviledge meeting Jerry for the first time, as he is has been named one of the top 5 Wedding photographers in the World. Before I end this post, I’d like to share my favourite quote from Jerry with everyone.

“You can be intimidated by Successful people or you can be inspired!

What one man (woman) can do, Another can do better!”
