Situated in one of the trendiest and busiest places in Kuala Lumpur, Kirishima is based in the hip building of Dua Annex on Jalan Tun Razak just walking distance away from KL Twin Towers. The design of the restaurant is a mixed of old and new. Beautiful chandeliers hang on the wall amidst sake bottles and tea cups in the background. Private rooms facing lush greenery are also available for dining in. If you can’t get the waiter, don’t worry, just press a button on your table and they are at your service.
The food served in this restaurant is exquisite and tantalises the palate as the chef takes time to ensure that each dish is not only delicious but also aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Here are some photographs taken of the restaurant. A full write-up of the restaurant review will appear in the June issue of KLue magazine. To read the review click me.
Kirishima Japanese Restaurant
Soft Shell Crab Nama Harumaki
I’d recommend trying this dish anytime! The baby soft shell crabs were tender, crunchy and came wrapped with rice paper filled with a goodie bag of lettuce and avocado.
Wagyu Ishiyaki
The wagyu beef was served sizzling hot and it was delicious! I only felt the portion size was too small for my liking, I could have ate a few hot plates of this myself.
Unagi (Eel) Roll and Tempura Set
The fresh prawns and a selection of vegetables were fried in a nice light tempura batter. This has to be eaten almost immediately to retain its crispness.
Unagi (Eel) Roll
Unagi or Eel is not an easy fish to prepare, I was quite delighted that the chef cooked the unagi to perfection and the meat was succulent. The unagi sushi went well with pickled ginger and wasabi sauce.
