Darshini’s 21st Birthday Party

Monday, June 28th, 2010

Here are some sneak preview shots taken during Darshini’s 21st Birthday Party Celebration. The party which was held at her beautiful home in Shah Alam on Saturday, 12 June 2010 was attended by her close family and friends. The theme colour of the party was gold & blue, hence the table cloth and drapes on the tent were in the shade of gold, while the cake had a beautiful blue & gold tint to it. Darshini looked amazingly beautuiful in a blue saree. Lots more images to be updated on my website, but in the mean time do enjoy viewing the sneak preview shots taken by Benjamin who stood in for me as I had a prior engagement.

Outdoor Baby Portrait Session with Bella

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

I recently photographed a baby and family portrait session in a residential park in Klang. Bella who’s gonna turn one soon was fun to photograph as she had so many interesting and unique facial expressions from happy, sad, cheeky, curious to the dreamy look. She tirelessly posed for the camera and entertained us with her singing and cute baby talks.

I know Bella’s mom, Evelyne from my secondary school days and it was great to meet up with her again after all these years thanks to Facebook. The portraiture session went on well as we were blessed with great weather and beautiful blue sky.

Thanks for an amazing time Evelyne and Noel, Bella was such a darling to photograph and I hope you enjoying viewing these sneak preview shots. I have to admit picking photos for my blog was not an easy task as there were too many choices to begin with.

More collages of the portrait session will be placed on my Facebook group – Asha Carlos Photography Facebook Page, in the coming days so do ‘like’ the page to see the images.

Food Photography & Review: Chez Rose

Monday, June 21st, 2010

Formerly known as Klimt serving authentic Austrian cuisine, the restaurant has undergone a face lift and menu change offering a variety of Continental European cuisine such as Viennese, Hungarian, Spanish and French whilst still continuing to serve some of its popular Austrian dishes.

The restaurant which is just a 10-minutes drive by car from Bangsar is located in a busy shoplot area of Damansara, with sufficient parking spaces.  Another famous landmark to look out if you’re heading to the restaurant for the first time is Hock Lee’s Mini Market which is located in the same row as Chez Rose.

Walking into this restaurant, you would immediately be captivated by its clean demeanor and sleek ambiance.  This is definitely a great restaurant to go to for entertaining guests and rekindle memories of good European cuisine.  If you’re the more adventurous type, do try out some of their house specialities such as Ox Tongue, Paella or Herring Fillet.

A full review of this restaurant will appear in the September 2010 issue of KLue magazine.

We were served with warm bread and herbed butter which went well with our freshly squeezed juice while we waited for our meal to arrive.

David & Anantha's Outdoor Engagement Photo Shoot

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

Here are some casual outdoor engagement style photos taken of David & Anantha in Shah Alam recently. Before the shoot, we had decided on a theme and a set of scenes for the shoot. These were well prepared and thought by David and Anantha.

A huge thank you goes out to Fauziah who helped organise the shoot, we could not have done it without you! Fauziah is Arshia’s mom one of my earlier clients from a birthday party shoot which I photographed last year.

Here are just some of the sneak preview photos taken of the outdoor shoot. The rest of the shots with the full scenes will be available on my website gallery soon. Do enjoy these sneak preview images in the mean time.

Food Photography & Review: Italian on Sixth

Saturday, June 12th, 2010

If you’re ever at Pavillion Mall, KL shopping and wondering where to get a good meal which is worth every penny, then take the escalator up to the 6th floor for some sweet Italian surprise! Cosily tucked away, this restaurant is so sleek and modern looking with a drink counter just outside its restaurant.

Thinking that this was just another Italian restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised to find my palate tantalised by the delicious food served here, the fresh ingredients coupled with a modern style of cooking made me want seconds of the food helping and yes, I almost ate every one of the bread stick ;o)

The full review of this restaurant will appear in August’s issue of KLue magazine.

Baby Portrait Session with Ariez

Monday, June 7th, 2010

Photographing 5-month old baby boy Ariez was such a dream as he was calm, happy and photogenic which made the shoot more fun and exciting. I was a little apprehensive in the begining as we started the shoot quite early but Baby Ariez was wide awake and looked even more excited than us.

This outdoor family portraiture was photographed in the lavish greenery of Putrajaya and we were blessed with having beautiful weather!

As a photographer, its always nice to get specific request from clients wanting a particular style or theme for their outdoor portraiture as its allows me to create different photographs from the norm and challenge myself further. Assad and Dr Jaseema specially requested for more subtle looking photographs with more of a soft lighting effect than overly colourful looking photos to obtain a more sophisticated and classy look.

So here are some sneak preview photos of 5-month old Baby Ariez with his parents. Hope you enjoy viewing them and feel free to leave comments if you like.

Food Photography & Review: KangSane Korean Restaurant

Friday, June 4th, 2010

The next time you’re in Ampang, KL and wondering what to eat, head over to Little Korea where you will find an ample supply of restaurants serving all types of Korean delicacies. If you’re especially interested in Korean Barbecue, then you must try the Big Size Galbi at KangSane Korean BBQ Restaurant which is one of their signature dishes. Parking here can be a bit tough during office hours, so be prepared to park along the housing area and walk a little.

Here are some images taken during the day of a few of their dishes. A full write-up of the restaurant review will appear in the July issue of KLue magazine.
