The next time you’re in Subang Jaya, do stop by the new shopping mall called Empire Shopping Gallery located just behind Subang Parade. While you’re there, and if you’re wondering what new cuisine to try, you could head to Serai Empire which is a Malaysian and western fusion themed restaurant. Serving interesting and quirky dishes such as penne beef rendang, moroccan flavoured dishes with old favourite drinks such as sirap selasih this is a curious place.
Stepping into the restaurant, the deco is simple, clean and fresh looking. I personally would have preferred additional soft furnishing to give a more cosy feel to the place. A fresh stalk of serai (lemongrass) placed in a vase on each table ties in with the restaurant logo. The layout of the place is narrow but extends quite far back, with a smoking area placed at the rear so as not to intrude.
The food here is interesting and its worth going there for something a little different and unique. A full write-up of the restaurant review will appear in the October issue of KLue magazine. To read the review click me.
