My Daughter Madeline

Regular followers of my blog are probably aware that I have a daughter, Madeline who is now 19 months old. I like to photograph her on a regular basis because at this age children grow up and change at an incredible rate. Photographs are also a great way of keeping friends and family updated with her progress, and retain moments to share with her in years to come when she’s all grown up.

This being my first child, I’m still relatively new to parenthood, and with it comes a whole kaleidoscope of emotions from elation to frustration and everything in between. On the whole it’s a unique, incredible experience and I feel so blessed to be a parent, especially to such a wonderful cheeky rascal. Do enjoy these photographs of her which i took recently.

Madeline loves her caps and hats, this particular one is from Canada

Her baby teeth have enabled her to bite and chew on toys and other objects. Her favourite are spoons

She loves sitting on her green stool whenever she watches Barney or the Wiggles

Here she’s giving a sweet and angelic pose (calm before the storm?)

A quick shot with mummy of course, and here’s a poem by Sherri Lawrence which articulates my feelings for her

Precious Gift

When times seem too hard to bear and I feel like giving up
I vision your beautiful face, the twinkle of your eyes and things of such
The bond we created from my womb to the day you were born
Is a mother and daughter bind that can never be torn
With the strength and guidance of God and the blessings he pours down from above
I want to be the best mom I can be to you and embrace you with all my love
You are as precious as a flower and as gorgeous as a rose
You have been specially made to the very tip of your nose
You are as sweet as honey; such an innocent young child
You are brighter than any star in the sky every time you smile
I want you to be proud of who you are and strive to be the best
Put forth your efforts to achieve your goals and let God do the rest
I will always be your mother first, but I’m also your friend
Your are the most precious gift, that I’ve ever been given

Cool shots you got on your cute little bunny. 🙂 She is such a doll! I agree with you about babies at this age grow lightning fast — its a new thing every week, as far as I see. I have also taken shots of my baby girl (just turn 11 mths) and I havent really show yet. Now, where is that time that I am looking for.. 😛
