I was recently contacted by a photo lab Company called Saal Digital UK based in Germany to review one of their photobook albums. You can read in details about my review on my facebook page – Asha Carlos Photography, here are some of the photos which I photographed of the finished photobook album. I used the photos from a recent client’s family portrait session to create a sample album. As a photographer who has been in the business for many years, I have dealth with lots of album suppliers and was quite please with the results from this supplier and would surely recommend it to clients.
Close up shot of the album bind quality and pages
The colour printing was accurate to the original photos and the photobook print pages were of good quality. As you can see above, the pages are thicker than normal as I opted for extra thick pages. This particular photobook album is 19cm x 19cm in size and comes with 12 pages (6 sheets). Below you will find the images of the inside pages of the album.
I choose a glossy finish to matt and I found that the glossy finish made both the colour and black and white images stand out on each page.
You are able to add on extra pages if you’d like. For this photo album with the extra thick pages, clients are able to add a maximum of 36 pages in total.
Depending on the design of the album, you can use customised background or a set of standard coloured or patterned background. I personally prefer black as it brings out the photos much better.
You can even add text, poems or little proverbs in the album to personalise it
All in all a fab quality album and I would defintely recommend this to my existing and future clients.
