Macmillan Coffee Morning

I was invited to two Macmillan Coffee Mornings today by some friends at their respective home.  Cancer affects people in different ways, some directly and some indirectly nevertheless its not the best thing to be apart of and having the wonderful support of Macmillan for both cancer patients and their family is so important.  The coffee morning is held yearly and started in 1990, as a way for people to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.  Although it started from a small idea, it has now grown to be the biggest coffee morning event in the world and has raised over £138 million to-date and £25 million last year.

Holding a Coffee Morning can be great fun, it is also a community event, where you get to invite your friends and family over for a round for a cuppa, cake and chat. If you would like to hold one yourself, then first, register with Macmillan for a free coffee morning kit, they usually will send it to you within 12 days. Next decide what type of coffee morning you want to hold, if its private or if you want it open to the public. Then send out invites and finally enjoy the day eating cake all for a good cause.  I found it lovely to see so many people gather and support such a great cause.  Here are some photos of the cakes I photographed from both the houses.  For more information or to participate in the coffee morning for next year, do visit – Macmillan Cancer Support
