Photography at Barlounge Chester

We love Chester and this is the second time we were called to the beautiful and historic city in Cheshire. The first time was to photograph a wedding while this time its was to photograph the lovely food and drinks offered at Barlounge for Yeah Lifestyle.  Do visit Yeah Lifestyle’s website to read the full review, to see the slideshow and additional photos. Here are some of our favourite shots of the day, starting with the refreshing and delicious mocktails (OMP and Wheel Barrow).

Barlounge is located in the heart of the city on the high street and just walking distances from a lot of the local landmarks. The restaurant is also a favourite place to hang out during the Chester Races so make sure you have booked your seat if you are heading there when a race is on.

The restaurant has a very inviting feel about the place. It boasts a lovely bar and the interior decor in the restaurant is sophisticated. Situated just next to a multi-story indoor carpark, and walking distance from the city centre, it was easy for us to park up. The bar seats an average of 150 people on a normal day but on a race day there can be anywhere between 250 to 300 people scattered around the bar, restaurant and terrace area.

Barlounge serves an amazing selection of starters, if you are heading there in a group then try their platter where you would get to choose a selection of three items served on a wooden platter.  The following selection includes garden pea hummus served with mint pea shoots and sour dough. Halloumi fries served with orange & chilli yoghurt, coriander.  Toasted sour dough served with fresh tomato, buffalo mozzarella, sun blush tomato & balsamic. These can also be purchased individually.

While waiting for our mains to arrive we had a quick look outside.  Barlounge has a beautiful terrace area where customers can enjoy the view of the street and the lovely flower plants. There were also fresh blankets on each table as well as the heating to keep the patrons nice and warm. If it rained while you were seated outside, you would not need to move inside as they also have an adjustable retractable awning roof to keep you dry.

For the main course, we were served a humongous and awesome looking burger, Barlounge’s signature Gourmet Burger.  The burger had everything on it from treacle cured bacon, cheese, grilled duck egg, picked red onion, hash brown and veg. The burger was also topped with a fried pickle and served with purple cabbage coleslaw and crispy chips. It was a visually stunning dish.

We also were served Roasted Seabass Fillet with wilted kale and spring greens. The fish was served with orange salad and salsa.

Barlounge boats of a varied selection of cocktails and mocktails. Just speak to their bartender who will happily prepare you a fabulous concoction of your favourite flavours.

We were served a lush and decadent sticky toffee pudding for dessert.  The pudding was light and airy and was served with vanilla ice-cream and on the top. It also came with a very rich fudge sauce which was locally sourced from Roly’s Fudge.

For our final dish, we were served Eton Mess Crisp Meringue. The strawberry compote at the bottom of the glass complimented the ice-cream and fresh strawberries really well. It was a light and refreshing dessert after our heavy meal.

Barlounge is a fabulous place to head to for a meal of just to chill with family or friends. Can’t wait to head there again the next time we are in Chester.
