I love taking family photos and portraits of newborn babies as it reminds me of when our own kids were very young. I also try to encourage parents to take photos of their little babies as much as they can or at least get a professional photographer to take their babie’s shot every 3 months once for the first year. Why? Because babies grow rapidly and their facial expressions changes and you want to be able to remember it when they are all grown up.
I recently headed to Prestbury in Cheshire to photograph this beautiful 3 month-old baby boy. Hope you enjoy these sneak peak photos and do contact us if you would like a similar session done for your family. We mainly photograph around Cheshire, Manchester and Staffordshire but we are happy to travel further so do drop us a message.
I was recently asked to photograph baby Dontae-Romeo’s Baptism in Christ Church Tunstall in the city of Stoke-on-Trent and in the County of Staffordshire. The church which has been in operation since 1832 is beautiful and the baptism ceremony was held there on a Sunday during their morning, 10am service. Father John Stather is the current vicar of the Church. Here’s a photo of the little boy with his mum, Sarah.
I have always wanted to photograph a same sex wedding so was completely thrilled to photograph both Rebekah & Laura’s civil wedding ceremony at Whiston Hall Hotel & Golf Club in Stoke-on-Trent as a second shooter. Both the the civil wedding and the dinner reception was held at the picturesque Whiston Hall which is located not too far from Leek. The weather held on for us for most of the day so we had some lovely couple shots outside just before it poured down. Hope you enjoy viewing these photos, for more images, do head to our Asha Carlos Facebook page.
We are often called to locations to do photography for restaurants or for food reviews. This time we headed to Nunsmere Hall Hotel located at Tarporley, Cheshire which is an absolutely stunning location and often operates as an exclusive wedding venue. We took some photos of the location and food being served there. The weather was fabulous and we also had the opportunity to walk around the garden area and enjoy the fantastic scenery. Do hope you enjoy viewing these beautiful images of the 4 Red Stars and two AA Rosettes Hotel.
I recently spent a day photographing a beautiful couple in Chester as their second shooter. I started off my day at the Bride’s house in Northwich where I photographed her, the bridesmaids, and her family getting ready. The bridal party had booked a lovely bus to shuttle us around so I managed to get a lift on it to my next location which was the Chester Register Office for their Civil Ceremony. We next headed off for some bridal, couple and family portraits at Chester River, The Band Stand. The place was scenic with a lovely bridge and the weather was also fantastic. Right after the portrait session, we headed off to Antrobus Village Hall, Knutsford Road for the Reception photos. The whole day was just perfectly planned and everything went accordingly. I took hundreds of photos on the day and here are a few of my favourite ones for the blog, more photos can be seen on my Facebook page – Asha Carlos Photography.
We love Chester and this is the second time we were called to the beautiful and historic city in Cheshire. The first time was to photograph a wedding while this time its was to photograph the lovely food and drinks offered at Barlounge for Yeah Lifestyle. Do visit Yeah Lifestyle’s website to read the full review, to see the slideshow and additional photos. Here are some of our favourite shots of the day, starting with the refreshing and delicious mocktails (OMP and Wheel Barrow).
Really happy to announce that one of my photo has been selected to be featured in the Eyes Wide Open Exhibition at The New Vic Theatre to co-incide with the 150th Anniversary of the birth of Arnold Bennett, one of Stoke-on-Trent’s greatest literary legends. The exhibition will be showcased simultaneously with The New Vic’s own production, a play titled, Anna of the Five Towns. To celebrate all things Arnold Bennett, the local newspaper, The Sentinel has organised a photo exhibition to showcase photos from the five featured towns in Stoke-on-Trent featuring their past and present glory. These towns are Hanley, Tunstall, Longton / Fenton, Stoke and Burslem.
There were over 900 photos submitted for the selection process from the The Snapper Squad team (which are currently standing at 400 members on their Facebook page). Out of the 900 photos only 33 photos were selected to be exhibited. The Sentinel then printed these photos, framed them and has exhibited them at the cafe & shop area of The New Vic for display throughout the duration of the play which is from from 26 May until 17 June 2017.
The play, Anna of the Five Towns is an adaptation of Arnold’s most-loved novel which tells the absorbing love story of a spirited young woman, Anna Tellwright, set against the backdrop of life in the Potteries. Here’s my photo submission of the old Twyford building which was selected. Do try to catch both the play as well as the exhibition if you can.
Here are some food photos which was photographed when a review was done for Yeah Lifestyle of the upcoming British gastropub The Wheatsheaf Restaurant based in Sandbach, Cheshire. The pub was beautifully decorated and served some fabulous food. I photographed a total of 6 dishes, 2 being appetisers, 2 main courses and 2 desserts, for more images and video visit the Yeah Lifestyle website. All photos were photographed using natural window light at the restaurant.
Here are some photos which I photographed while attending the monthly Snapper Squad meeting at Hanley’s Masonic Centre which is run by The Sentinel, a newspaper covering news in Stoke-on-Trent. The model I photographed was Fiona, she got dressed in three sets of different themed clothes, each carefully showcasing her beautiful tattoos or body art. The whole session took around an hour and a half. Fiona was such a poised model, making sure she gave each one of us her attention and kept moving about. I have done a short demo video clip of our fun session, there are also quite a number of photos on this page and lots more on my facebook page.
