I recently spent a day photographing a beautiful couple in Chester as their second shooter. I started off my day at the Bride’s house in Northwich where I photographed her, the bridesmaids, and her family getting ready. The bridal party had booked a lovely bus to shuttle us around so I managed to get a lift on it to my next location which was the Chester Register Office for their Civil Ceremony. We next headed off for some bridal, couple and family portraits at Chester River, The Band Stand. The place was scenic with a lovely bridge and the weather was also fantastic. Right after the portrait session, we headed off to Antrobus Village Hall, Knutsford Road for the Reception photos. The whole day was just perfectly planned and everything went accordingly. I took hundreds of photos on the day and here are a few of my favourite ones for the blog, more photos can be seen on my Facebook page – Asha Carlos Photography.
Here are some photos which I photographed for Chris and Katie at their wedding at Shrigley Hall in Macclesfield, Cheshire. It was a beautiful event where the bride and groom had their wedding ceremony at Tilden Suite, we next took some photos of the wedding party, there were about 130 pax in total. This was followed by the guests relaxing and having a drink while the we did some couple portraits. The Suite was converted into a stunning dinner venue very quickly and beautifully by Dreams Venue Dressing which is based in Biddulph. They did a fabulous job in line with the theme which was ‘Harry Porter’.
The Shrigley Hall Hotel & Country Club is an elegant Victorian country house, set in 262 acres of grounds on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Hence the set-up for the wedding was really beautiful. Here are some of the photos taken on the day of the stunning couple.
Here are some of the photos I took of Lee and Susan’s traditional church wedding ceremony at St Mary The Virgin Church in Uttoxeter sometime back. I was the second shooter for this wedding and photographed the getting ready photos of the bridal party at their home, as well as the Church Wedding Ceremony. The couple were blessed with beautiful sunny weather throughout the day. The church ceremony started at 2pm and lasted for about an hour. Hope you enjoy viewing these images.
Here are some wedding portrait images of a couple which I photographed at Hanley Masonic Hall in Stoke-on-Trent. As some of you may know I am a member of The Sentinel‘s SnapperSquad team and we meet once a month to share, discuss and learn about various topics pertaining to photography. The SnapperSquad team is lead by Steve Bould who is the Chief Photographer of the Sentinel newspaper. I thoroughly enjoyed last month’s meeting as it was a practical session led by local photographer Clare Jennings who gave us lots of advice, lighting and posing tips. This was Clare’s second session with us, her first session she showed us a slideshows of her wedding images and shared her experience as a wedding photographer in the UK which was equally informative. Our models for the day were Nic and Claire. Hope you enjoy viewing these set of photos.
After taking a break from shooting weddings for more than four years, I am happy to say I am starting to take bookings for wedding photography in both Staffordshire and Cheshire Areas. Photographing weddings can be a long and tiring process as it involves a lot of hard work which can last anywhere from half a day to a whole day. If you ask me why I do it, let me tell you its because I love creating beautiful images of the couple and their special day. There is so much joy that they share and I find myself so priviledged to photograph them and provide them with beautiful images for them to keep for the rest of their lives. Here are some recent photos of Tom and Sarah’s beautiful wedding ceremony which I photographed last week. They held their wedding at Sandbach Town Hall, their ceremony was very special as not only did they have their Christian wedding ceremony but they also performed a multicultural wedding ceremony where they incorporated some Jewish and Hindu blessing into their special day. Each of the ceremony they performed was very symbolic and it moved a lot of their guests.
Above is the photo of the lovely couple as they sign their marriage register
This is a special blog post for brides-to-be who are looking for an amazing location to hold their wedding reception, couple portrait sessions or even host their honeymoon. I was told that David and Victoria Beckham held their engagement here in 2008 and I am not surprised as Rookery Hall Hotel is situated around 38 acres of Cheshire’s stunning countryside. Driving up to the Hotel, I was in awe of the beautiful long driveway and then to be greated by the classy looking building, I was told the original hall was built in 1816. The surrounding land is beautifully maintained and the hotel has recently undergone a £750k renovation project.
I was invited to attend a South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce meeting called Final Friday whereby on the last Friday of every month, the Chamber will hold a networking meeting at a pre-determined location. For this networking meeting, I was invited to go to Rookery Hall Hotel and Spa at Worleston, Nantwich in Cheshire to meet and network with other members and to receive an exclusive tour of the building. I decided to use this opportunity to blog and write about Rookery Hall Hotel and Spa and its really beautiful and it will give potential bride and groom a chance to view the images and to consider having their special day there. The wedding reception hall can easily hold about 150 guests and they offer about 70 bedrooms which also has been recently renovated.
My family and I decided to head back to Malaysia for a 3 weeks holiday break recently and I was thrilled to find out that WPPA (Wedding and Portrait Photographers of Asia) was organising their annual conference at the same time. Always on the look out to improve my photography skill and to be inspired, I decided to enroll for the 1-day Masterclass by Lito Sy (pronounced Lito See) in Damansara. Lito Sy who is from Philippines, is an award winning photographer and ambassador for many photographic equipments. So enjoy viewing some of the images which I photographed on the day.
Wedding guestbooks provide the happy couple with a great memento to look back and cherish their special day with words of congratulations, encouragement and wisdom from their guests. A tailor-made guestbook complete with personalised photographs and writings offers so much more in terms of sentimental value when compared with an off-the-shelf shop bought version.
The contents and theme of my personalised guestbooks are fully customisable, with the couple having flexibility of choice as to the photoshoot location, album style, layout, wording, and so on. It can be as simple or elaborate as you prefer.
To give you an idea how a sample guestbook looks like, here is a recent one I created for one of my couples. We captured these beautiful shots of Dr Chitra and Dr Sridhar to showcase their Indian wear & themed wedding themed guestbook. This was a relatively quick session of about 45 minutes, just as the evening sun and the busy crowd was leaving Batu Caves. With beautiful weather at hand, both bride and groom were relaxed and easygoing. They wanted a natural look and feel about the shoot… “An Evening At Batu Caves”.
Do enjoy these images, proverbs and beautiful words chosen by the couple themselves. Feel free to contact me if you would like a tailor-made wedding guestbook for yourself or someone you know.
I had the opportunity to take this engagement shoot recently at Jennifer’s home in Sunway Kayangang, Shah Alam. Both Jenn & Ruben were a beautiful couple to work with, and their obvious love and fondness for each other really shines through. Here are some preview photos of their traditional Christian engagement ceremony.
I had the privilege to photograph Vidhya and Thenes’s Hindu Engagement ceremony at the beautiful Sri Muthu Mariamman Temple off Jalan Pantai Baharu in Bangsar on 14th December 2011. We started off at Vidhya’s home for some getting ready shots before heading off to the temple. It was a wet day but luckily the weather improved just as the Groom’s family arrived with the gift trays.
As you can see, Vidhya and Thenes looked absolutely gorgeous and they both planned the day meticulously so everything fell perfectly into place. Here are some sneak preview images of their special day.
