Baby Madeline Turns Seven Months Old

March 24th, 2011

In celebration of my baby daughter Madeline, who will be seven months old in just a few days time, I thought I’d share with you some recent photos of her. As parents, it is a joy to witness her growth and development such as turning over on her tummy and starting to crawl, sitting up by herself, and so on.

Capturing these little accomplishments in photographic form is great fun, especially as we are able to share these happy moments with friends and family. Ultimately we will create a coffee table album for her, showcasing her journey from birth to a year old. Truly, she’s been a blessing to us both and we love her to bits!

Ok what’s a blog entry if it doesn’t contain at least a little shameless marketing? Don’t worry, I’ll keep it to a minimum. These photographs have been taken making use of a mobile home studio concept I recently introduced. Through a combination of backgrounds, lighting, materials and props, the overall effect can be tailored to suit a variety of individual tastes. Whether you are a fan of the loud, bright and cheery ‘in your face’ style, or prefer a more soft, subtle, sophisticated look, the mobile home studio concept offers such flexibility. There, that didn’t hurt.

Hope you enjoy viewing these images in the mean time, a recent photoshoot of a newborn baby will be posted on my blog in the coming week so stay tuned!

She’s still curious whenever she looks at the camera

Introducing Baby Ahbhishek

March 16th, 2011

Of late I’ve been photographing quite a number of newborn baby portraits and do find them most satisfying. Taking newborn photos can require a ton of patience as babies only work to their own schedule, but they always appear so photogenic, resulting in beautiful angelic images that warm the heart.

Here is a recent photo session I took for an old college friend of mine Nasta, of her newborn baby boy Ahbhishek. Born on 11th February, this adorable little Valentino is sure going to be a heart breaker when he grows up. Such a cute little baby boy who just turned a month old. Hope you enjoy viewing the photos.

Subha and Mahes’s Couple Portrait Session

March 10th, 2011

Subha and Mahes found me via google and after a quick consultation decided on booking me for this casual outdoor portrait session or engagement photo session as it is sometimes known overseas.

I personally enjoy photographing these casual pre-wedding sessions which last no more than two hours as it is more dynamic and fun for the couple and photographer when compared to a traditional pre-wedding session which can take up most of a day and leave the couple physically and emotionally exhausted.

As a photographer it’s always inspiring with clients such as Subha and Mahes because they are both easy going and take directions easily, hence making the session a breeze. So I do hope you enjoy viewing this preview.

Jay’s 1st Birthday Party Celebration

February 25th, 2011

Jay’s 1st birthday party celebration was held on 29th January 2011 at his beautiful home in Bandar Botanic, Klang. The party was a well organised occasion with delicious food catered by The Big Rajahs’ and children’s entertainment provided by a clown who kept them laughing.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable photography session, especially since Jay is such a fun loving and energetic boy who kept me on my toes throughout the shoot.

Four Month Old Baby Boy Portrait Session

February 11th, 2011

Babies are simply adorable don’t you think? Especially when they are at that young and tender age. It’s good for parents to capture those precious memories of a baby’s early years as the moments do pass by so incredibly quickly. Here are some images from a recent portrait photography session I took in celebration of four month old Baby Rohit. The shots were taken indoor at their residence at Subang Jaya.

Joining his parents, Shawn and Karmini for the session were his Grandma Sally and Uncle Taro who flew down from USA.

Korean Family Outdoor Portrait Session

January 29th, 2011

Recently I had the opportunity to provide a family portrait session for a Korean family in Ampang, close to KL city centre. Cindy who was looking for a portrait photographer for her children, found me through a google search.

The portrait session began in their house with the girls wearing traditional Korean costumes before proceeding to a park in the nearby vicinity for some outdoor portraiture. We had the good fortune of favourable weather and decent natural lighting, resulting in quite a productive session overall.

This was my first photo session involving a Korean family and it was a constructive and rewarding experience. Whether it’s due to Korean genetics in general or Cindy’s family, I found them to be particularly photogenic. Also the children were lively, energetic and fully of personality resulting in a pleasing collection of photographs.

A big kamsamnida (thank you) to Cindy for commissioning me to photograph your lovely family.

David & Anantha’s Dinner Reception

January 23rd, 2011

This is the third and final installment of David and Anantha’s wedding photography events, the previous two being their Traditional Hindu wedding and Catholic Church wedding ceremony. Their dinner reception was held at HGH Convention Centre, Jalan Ipoh, just ten minutes away from Dynasty Hotel, KL.

The hall which easily accommodates 100 tables was fully air-conditioned and decorated beautifully. The theme for the wedding dinner was gold, hence the clothing and decorations were befitting the king and queen for the day.

David and Anantha, it was a pleasure to cover your wedding and I’d like to take the oppurtunity to wish you both all the best for your married life together.

Baby Jeremiah’s Baptism

January 7th, 2011

Here are some photos taken of baby Jeremiah’s baptism taken on 19th December 2010 at Assumption Church in Petaling Jaya. Jeremiah was among several babies being baptised by the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Phillips Muthu.

If you’re wondering what baptism is all about, it is a Christian ritual to signify the acceptance of or by a person into the Christian faith. In the case of Catholics such as baby Jeremiah, baptism is one of the seven sacraments, the others being Eucharist, Reconciliation, Confirmation, Marriage, Holy Orders and Anointing of the Sick. The rite of baptism generally involves a blessing with water presided over by a priest in front of a congregation of the church. It is also a tradition during baptism for the parents to choose a Godmother and Godfather to guide the child in the faith as they grow.

Jeremiah was such a darling through-out the day and so well-behaved. Hope you enjoy the photos taken of his special day.

David & Anantha’s Catholic Church Wedding

December 28th, 2010

Precisely one week after David & Anantha’s temple wedding, I photographed their Catholic church wedding held at Our Lady of Lourdes (OLL) Church, Klang on 27th November 2010. The bride and groom, in fact the entire wedding party were dressed to perfection, and the service which lasted about an hour was celebrated by OLL’s parish priest, Rev. Father John Gnanapiragasam. The wedding ceremony went on without a hitch (no pun intended) and was attended by David and Anantha’s close family and friends.

On a personal note, I was especially happy to be photographing at OLL Church as not only is it a historic building built in 1928 with beautiful architecture (reminding me a little of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris), but it also brought back lots of memories of my childhood as this was the parish I grew up in.

Here are a few sneak preview shots taken at the church. Stay tuned for the dinner reception photos which will appear on my photography blog soon.
