Vidhya & Thenes’s Engagement Ceremony

Wednesday, December 28th, 2011

I had the privilege to photograph Vidhya and Thenes’s Hindu Engagement ceremony at the beautiful Sri Muthu Mariamman Temple off Jalan Pantai Baharu in Bangsar on 14th December 2011. We started off at Vidhya’s home for some getting ready shots before heading off to the temple. It was a wet day but luckily the weather improved just as the Groom’s family arrived with the gift trays.

As you can see, Vidhya and Thenes looked absolutely gorgeous and they both planned the day meticulously so everything fell perfectly into place. Here are some sneak preview images of their special day.

Megan’s Sweet 16th Birthday

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

Megan celebrated her sweet 16th birthday bash on 30th September at her home in Desapark City, Damansara. It was an intimate but beautiful ceremony attended by her very close friends and family. This pretty young lady was so poised during her portrait session before the party began. Her party theme was black & white, hence everything from the cake, dress, party balloon decorations as well as guests came in black & white attire.

I had a great time capturing photogenic Megan at her beautiful home. Here are some sneak preview images, more will be updated on my website later.

Natalia’s First Birthday Party

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011

Here’s some pictures of a one year old birthday celebration I took recently. Though I’ve photographed a few first birthdays before, this one was all the more special in the sense that the birthday girl’s parents were previous clients of mine. I was the photographer at Bernard and Aloysia’s wedding ceremony some time back, so it was a privilege to photograph their beautiful baby daughter on her special day!

The birthday party was held at the Royal Selangor Club, next to Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur and the theme was ‘Barney’. With around a hundred guests at the event, the party was kept a buzz by Stanley Event Management who provided songs, dances, art and games for the kids. The little ones went crazy with excitement when their favourite purple dinosaur, Barney made a special appearance just for them.

Natalia was such a darling little princess and a joy to photograph. Hope you enjoy the preview images.

Tarraniya’s 1st Birthday Celebration

Thursday, June 9th, 2011

I was commissioned to photograph Tarraniya’s 1st birthday party on 22nd May 2011 at the Botanic Garden Club House in Klang. The party was very well organised by her parents, Nirmala & Inthiran. Disney characters came to life with a Mickey Mouse mascot, a beautiful themed birthday cake, party packs, Mickey & Minnie cookies, cup cakes etc.

The evening tea party was full of fun activities. While the parents were ushered to the buffet table, the kids were entertained by a clown and face painter who drew beautiful designs to complement their costumes. The evening ended with a best dressed girl and boy competition – a tough choice for the judges as all the kids were dressed like winners!

Tarraniya was an angel through out the evening and kept the guests entertained with her cute antics. To view more photos of this event, head to Baby Tarraniya’s Birthday Party Celebration Gallery

Vinoshan’s 1st Birthday Celebration

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

I had the privilege of photographing Vinoshan’s 1st birthday party held at the local apartment hall of his home in Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur on 21st May 2011.

We began the photography session with some family portrait shots and followed with the birthday party celebration. The theme for the birthday party was ‘Madagascar’ hence everything from the cake to the decorations was of Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo – the main characters from the movie.

The party was eventful with magic shows, clown performances as well as an inflatable bounce indoor playhouse to keep the kids entertained. The birthday boy, Vinoshan was full of smiles and expressions throughout the evening, a very friendly boy.

Thank you Muru & Puspa, It was a pleasure to photograph Vinoshan’s big day!

Salina’s Lenggang Perut (Bangle Wearing) Ceremony

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

As a photographer it’s always a pleasure to receive a new assignment from a previous client. A while ago I had the privilege to take some wedding shots of Salina and her husband, Rajindren. I was thrilled when she contacted me with news that she was seven months pregnant. It gives me great satisfaction to have the opportunity to capture key moments in people’s lives, and Salina’s Bangle Wearing Ceremony (Valaikappu) was certainly a joyous occasion.

A bangle wearing ceremony is a tradition usually performed when seven months pregnant. Relatives adorn the mother-to-be with a selection of glass bangles on her arms for the well being of mother and baby. Sandalwood paste is smeared on the face, hands and feet of the expectant mother in order to cool the body, and a selection of rice is offered, the choice of which signifies whether the baby will be a boy or girl – supposedly.

The bangle ceremony was held in a beautifully decorated apartment in Cheras and Salina looked gorgeous that I had a tough time choosing which photos to place on my blog. So here are just a few of them taken during the event, showcasing her beauty and an enchanting ‘glow’ that is so unique to pregnant women.

Darshini’s 21st Birthday Party

Monday, June 28th, 2010

Here are some sneak preview shots taken during Darshini’s 21st Birthday Party Celebration. The party which was held at her beautiful home in Shah Alam on Saturday, 12 June 2010 was attended by her close family and friends. The theme colour of the party was gold & blue, hence the table cloth and drapes on the tent were in the shade of gold, while the cake had a beautiful blue & gold tint to it. Darshini looked amazingly beautuiful in a blue saree. Lots more images to be updated on my website, but in the mean time do enjoy viewing the sneak preview shots taken by Benjamin who stood in for me as I had a prior engagement.

Holy Redeemer Church Confirmation Photography

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

I’ve photographed Holy Communion shoots for HRC Church in Klang before but this was the first time I was photographing the Confirmation Students. The conferments are much older, mainly 17 years old and this would be one of the sacraments they receive as a Catholic.

Instead of the parish priest, the Archbishop will be the person to place his hand over the conferment’s head and anoint them, the Archbishop will also bestow the gifts of the Holy Spirit to each of them.

There were about 38 conferments in total and the event went on smoothly thanks to the organising committee. Here are some images taken during the mass on 23 May 2010.
