Chitra & Sridhar Casual Pre-Wedding Portraits for Guestbook

Monday, March 26th, 2012

Wedding guestbooks provide the happy couple with a great memento to look back and cherish their special day with words of congratulations, encouragement and wisdom from their guests. A tailor-made guestbook complete with personalised photographs and writings offers so much more in terms of sentimental value when compared with an off-the-shelf shop bought version.

The contents and theme of my personalised guestbooks are fully customisable, with the couple having flexibility of choice as to the photoshoot location, album style, layout, wording, and so on. It can be as simple or elaborate as you prefer.

To give you an idea how a sample guestbook looks like, here is a recent one I created for one of my couples. We captured these beautiful shots of Dr Chitra and Dr Sridhar to showcase their Indian wear & themed wedding themed guestbook. This was a relatively quick session of about 45 minutes, just as the evening sun and the busy crowd was leaving Batu Caves. With beautiful weather at hand, both bride and groom were relaxed and easygoing. They wanted a natural look and feel about the shoot… “An Evening At Batu Caves”.

Do enjoy these images, proverbs and beautiful words chosen by the couple themselves. Feel free to contact me if you would like a tailor-made wedding guestbook for yourself or someone you know.

Jennifer & Ruben Engaged

Friday, March 2nd, 2012

I had the opportunity to take this engagement shoot recently at Jennifer’s home in Sunway Kayangang, Shah Alam. Both Jenn & Ruben were a beautiful couple to work with, and their obvious love and fondness for each other really shines through. Here are some preview photos of their traditional Christian engagement ceremony.

Maziah & Anaqi Farrel Pre-wedding Portraits

Friday, October 28th, 2011

Themed casual pre-wedding portrait sessions are one of my favourite portrait sessions to photograph besides kid’s photography as a lot of thought process goes into setting up each shot. From location, props, make-up to clothes, I will most often come up wuth a concept to share with the couple or get them to propose some ideas. The whole process is so much fun and I enjoy this very much.

Maziah and Anaqi met when they were in high school in Kuching then they parted separate ways, somehow fate brought them together when they randomly met in KL. Both of them are so in love and capturing that in photos gives me a fuzzy feeling. They will be getting married on 23 December 2011 in Kuching, East Malaysia. The reunion is all the more beautiful as its a mixed marriage, Maziah is Malay while Anaqi is of Chinese origin.

For the photo shoot, we decided to do two different themes – the first is a pre-wedding portrait session while the second a school themed session to mimic the days when they were ditching school and hanging out in the park instead. Do enjoy these sneak previews.

David & Anantha’s Dinner Reception

Sunday, January 23rd, 2011

This is the third and final installment of David and Anantha’s wedding photography events, the previous two being their Traditional Hindu wedding and Catholic Church wedding ceremony. Their dinner reception was held at HGH Convention Centre, Jalan Ipoh, just ten minutes away from Dynasty Hotel, KL.

The hall which easily accommodates 100 tables was fully air-conditioned and decorated beautifully. The theme for the wedding dinner was gold, hence the clothing and decorations were befitting the king and queen for the day.

David and Anantha, it was a pleasure to cover your wedding and I’d like to take the oppurtunity to wish you both all the best for your married life together.

David & Anantha’s Catholic Church Wedding

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

Precisely one week after David & Anantha’s temple wedding, I photographed their Catholic church wedding held at Our Lady of Lourdes (OLL) Church, Klang on 27th November 2010. The bride and groom, in fact the entire wedding party were dressed to perfection, and the service which lasted about an hour was celebrated by OLL’s parish priest, Rev. Father John Gnanapiragasam. The wedding ceremony went on without a hitch (no pun intended) and was attended by David and Anantha’s close family and friends.

On a personal note, I was especially happy to be photographing at OLL Church as not only is it a historic building built in 1928 with beautiful architecture (reminding me a little of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris), but it also brought back lots of memories of my childhood as this was the parish I grew up in.

Here are a few sneak preview shots taken at the church. Stay tuned for the dinner reception photos which will appear on my photography blog soon.

David & Anantha’s Traditional Hindu Wedding Ceremony

Wednesday, December 8th, 2010

I love weddings – it’s always a joy to capture the feelings and emotions of the day as the happy couple join together in celebration of their love, in the presence of their nearest and dearest. It was a real privilege to photograph the temple wedding ceremony of David and Anantha on the 20th of November at the Arulmigu Raja Rajeswari Temple, Taman Sentosa, Klang.

Temple wedding ceremonies are by their nature, particularly lively and colourful events, with an abundance of vibrant Sarees on display and jewellery aplenty, and this was no exception. Once I started clicking my camera, it was difficult to stop, I felt completely in my element and this is why I love photography and capturing those lifelong memories so much!

The temple ceremony was beautifully conducted by the Hindu priest with close family members and friends attending to shower the couple with love and their blessings. Anantha looked amazing in her Saree and her make-up was flawless while David looked dashing. Here are some sneak preview images taken at the temple during the ceremony. More images will be updated on the gallery section of my website soon.

Feel free to leave comments on my blog and here’s a link to their outdoor engagement photo session which I took for them earlier this year. Enjoy.

Pre-Wedding Outdoor Photo Shoot

Monday, May 10th, 2010

I recently had the opportunity to assist a photographer friend of mine, Steph Tan during one of her outdoor pre-wedding shoots. The couple, Matt and Jen will be having their wedding in September. Matt is from Hong Kong while Jen who is Malaysian is currently also living in Hong Kong.

There was a two parter to their pre-wedding photo, one done indoor in the centre of Kuala Lumpur while the second done outdoor at a park. I joined Steph, Amru, Angie (make-up artist) and even CM Leung for the outdoor session, it was a fabulous day as it didn’t rain (I guess our rain dance worked!) and we managed to brave the tons of mossies’ and leeches around.

Here are some of the sneak preview shots of the day.
